Balance isn't found by giving everything equal weight. It's found by knowing what deserves more of you and what deserves less.

September 22 marks the Autumn Equinox and the Sun's entrance into Libra, beginning a new solar season centered on relationships, fairness, cooperation, compromise, beauty, and balance.

But today gives us a very good demonstration of why balance isn't the same thing as making everything pleasant.

Before leaving Virgo, the Sun forms a quincunx with Chiron in Aries. That can expose the uncomfortable space between improving ourselves and accepting ourselves. There are things worth correcting, absolutely—but constantly treating yourself like a renovation project eventually becomes its own problem.

It creates friction, often where two planetary energies aren't cooperating quite as easily as we'd like. Jupiter enlarges belief, confidence, hope, ambition, and expectation.
